Abundance Swap & Social

We ALLLL have them… you know, clothes that still have the tags on them, the ones you keep hoping to fit into “some day.”  Or, maybe you’ve worn it and it’s still in excellent condition, but you’re not going to wear it again.  Maybe your style has changed, the color is wrong, the fit isn’t quite right, or you’re just not in love with it.  You’ve got too much of this, have duplicates of that, or you have things that have outlived their original purpose yet are still in fantastic shape.  And what about the cute doodads, tchotchkes, knick-knacks, gewgaws, thingamajigs, trinkets, baubles, or whatnots around your home that are really just taking up space, collecting dust, and creating clutter. THAT stuff!!  The things you’d happily give away to someone that would appreciate and enjoy them.

THE DETAILS  Here’s how it works):  Pick a drawer, a closet, and/or a room in your home and take a good, hard look at every item in it – hold each object, one at a time, while asking yourself:   Does this bring me JOY…?”   If it truly does, you’re keeping it… but if it doesn’t, then LET IT GO!  When you’re done, round up your good stuff and bring it on over.  At the social, we’ll nibble and visit, and take turns picking each other’s things.  (We’ve done this before and it’s super fun!)

While we’re shopping, Suzanne will be offering a FREE Sip & Sniff Bar!  If it interests you, you can sample a variety of high-quality, pure essential oils.  She’ll be available to assist you and answer any questions you might have.  (Treat your sense of smell, taste and touch!)

At the end of the social, we’ll all go home with some new treasures (…if not, at least we cleaned out our closets and have made space for something new to appear!  🙂  Plus, whatever is left over, we’ll donate to a local charity.  WIN-WIN!  You can bring one thing or MANY things to swap, but remember, it’s the GOOD stuff!

SUGGESTED ITEMS:  clothing, shoes, scarves, purses, jewelry, lotions & potions, toiletries, books, CDs, movies, gift cards with a left-over balance, paraphernalia for a hobby, yoga or sports gear, home décor, household items, unused or quality pet items, linens, or  _____ (Nothing with holes, tears, rips, stains, missing pieces, broken, etc.)  If you’re unsure of something, you can ask Lori or Suzanne about it.

Feel free to bring a friend or family member – or come alone and make some new friends!  (Please note that this invitation is reserved for our students and their guests and is NOT open to the general public.)   A sign-up sheet is provided in the lobby, but you can also click here to let us know you’re coming.

We hope you’ll join us for this fun community social!

OPTIONAL:  If you’d like to bring some “nibbles” to share, please do!  Finger food, a light hors d’oeuvre, a sweet, or something to drink would be great.  (Something that’s easy to eat/serve)   We’ll provide cups, small plates, and napkins.  Please note that if money’s tight, you don’t have time, it’s too inconvenient, or you forget, no worries – just come!  (We’re sure to have plenty.)  This is a FREE event, although our Karma Association will gladly accept donations which go toward subsidizing classes for those students in our community who need yoga for health reasons but can’t afford our rates.

CAN YOU DROP ITEM(S) OFF EARLY…?  YES.  If you’d like to drop items off BEFORE the event, we’d be happy to accept them between now and the date of the event.  Please place item(s) in a bag with your name on the outside, along with the amount of items in the bag.  You can also bring the items with you on the day of the event.
