Her teaching draws from many different styles to develop classes that provide a supportive environment to all students. Having experienced a stress-related illness, she incorporates practices that help prevent tension buildup by releasing stress. One of these practices is Yoga Nidra, a deeply restful guided meditation. She is also studying Vipassana meditation through Sacramento Insight Meditation. She leads students through an insightful yoga practice that integrates awareness of breath, body and spirit with flowing movements that are graceful, invigorating and, at times, challenging.
Christie has a wonderful marriage and a delightful booger cat. She likes hiking, bird watching, gardening and travel, especially to the ocean! She is an elementary school teacher of special needs students.

Since then, he has been on a course of self-study to deepen his understanding of yoga. Whether he is gardening, kayaking, biking, or even trekking in Nepal, Carl has integrated yoga into his active lifestyle. Alternatively, he practices meditation and also enjoys the gentle leisure of “bed yoga” — his own prescription for starting the day.
Carl completed Lori Moore’s 200-hour yoga teacher training course in 2008 and enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for yoga with others.

Carrie Meyer
Carrie’s yoga is a personal distillation of yoga traditions/forms (including classical Ashtanga, Iyengar-style, and Vinyasa), somatics, and creative intuitions. She completed her first two yoga teacher trainings in 1999, began teaching in 2001, and acquired RYT certification with the establishment of the Yoga Alliance. Her teaching is informed by her life’s journey (including a nearly seven-year stint of residing and traveling in mostly Eastern countries in the 90s), education (including a master’s degree integrating Eastern psychology with somatics and holistic health), and healing arts work. Along with her hypnotherapy/energetic healing practice, she gives talks and workshops on practical themes of consciousness and healing.
Beyond her work and connections with dear ones, Carrie values silence and solitude, travel and wandering–especially in foreign lands–human stories and the way they are artfully honored in Playback Theatre, and the natural/animal world.
